Tendenser – Give it Time
Break Blower /Pausblåsare, 2017 by Sissi Westerberg
The exhibition “Give it Time” explore the various ways in which craft is experienced, the focus is time – daily rhythms, the momentary, and the on-going. I was invited by the curator Stephen Knott to participate with a series of self-portraits that I made in 2011. At that time I consumed an enormous amount of chewing-gums. The repeated persistent movement of the jaws was somehow accompanying my working rhythm – keeping my, often monotone work at a steady pace.
A Constant Grinding V, 2018, necklace by Karin Roy Andersson. Gum base, softeners, sweeteners, flavourings, paper, silk.
The exhibition opened at Galleri F15 /Punkt Ø on Saturday 24th and beside my chewing-gum necklaces you could see some very interesting, clever, thoughtful, poetic and fun work by Aslaug M. Juliussen (NO), Daniel Peltz (SE/US), Felieke van der Leest (NL/NO), Jenny Nordberg (SE), Kari Steihaug (NO), Mikkel Wettre (NO), Silo Studio (UK), Sissi Westerberg (SE), Sonja Löfgren (FI), Sophie Hanagarth (CH), TEXAS (NO) and Unndór Egill Jónsson (IS)
